Washing soda is made by boiling baking soda and then recrystallizing sodium carbonate. The reaction is as follows:
                               2NaHCO3→Na2CO3+CO2+H2O
         Sodium bicarbonate + heat → Sodium carbonate + carbon dioxide + water
Baking soda (NaHCO3) on heating gives sodium carbonate, which on crystallization from aqueous solution gives washing soda,
                             Na2CO3+10H2O→Na2CO3.10H2O.
                         Sodium carbonate + water → Washing soda.
