Detailed Solution

The above statement is True.
A white light beam does not produce a spectrum when it passes through a hollow prism. This is due to the fact that light cannot disperse as it passes through the air inside a hollow prism. Because a medium's refractive index varies depending on the colour of the object, dispersion occurs. The refractive index stays constant and there is no dispersion as white light moves from one air molecule to another. When a normal prism, which is not hollow, is used, the speed of light outside the prism is greater than inside.
