Zaid is an agricultural season in the summer season. These crops are grown for a short period between the Rabi and Kharif seasons from March to June and thus fall between harvesting Kharif crops and sowing rabi crops. These crops are mainly grown during a period called the Zaid crop season. Since these are grown in summer hence require warm, dry weather throughout the growing season and longer day lengths for proper flowering. Some important zaid crops are watermelon, muskmelon, cucumber, vegetables, and fodder.
