By analyzing the combined light from over 200,000 galaxies, researchers Karl Glazebrook and Ivan Baldry from Johns Hopkins University determined that the universe has a very faint beige-white color. They humorously named this shade "Cosmic Latte," similar to the color of a light coffee.

The discovery of Cosmic Latte helps scientists understand the overall composition and age of the universe. Since starlight from billions of galaxies blends together, the resulting color reflects the dominance of older, cooler stars, which emit more red and yellow light, mixed with the remaining blue light from younger stars. The blend creates this soft, pale tone.

It’s important to note that Cosmic Latte is not something we can see directly with the naked eye. Instead, it's a calculated average based on extensive astronomical data. While space appears mostly black to us due to the vast distances between stars and galaxies, the combined light from all celestial bodies results in this average color when measured scientifically.
