A semipermeable membrane is a membrane that allows only certain molecules to pass through it. 

A cell wall is the rigid external layer of the cell. Inside the cell, there is a jelly-like substance known as cytoplasm. The cytoplasm is separated by the cell wall through a semipermeable membrane known as the cell membrane. It provides support and maintains the shape of the cell.
