It is given that thrice a number is a 200% increase in that number.
Let the desired number be

Therefore thrice the number

Thus, the increase in the percentage of

is,

= 3 x − x x × 100 % = 2 x x × 100 % = 200 %

One-third of the number

Therefore the decrease in the percentage of
