The nature of the lens is Convex.
If decreasing the distance between the object and the lens increases the size of the image, then the type of lens is a convex lens. If the distance between the object and lens is less than the focal length of the lens, then a virtual, erect and enlarged image is obtained, which cannot be caught on the screen. This condition happens only when the object is placed between the Focus and the Optical centre of the lens. If the object is placed at any other position other than this, then the image will be real and can be caught on the screen.
