The nature of the lens is concave and convex.
A convex lens is converging in nature. It produces the same size or magnified images, depending upon the object's position. When the distance between the object and the lens decreases, the size of the image increases.
On the other hand, a concave lens is diverging in nature. It always produces a diminished image of the object. But if we place the object at infinity, the image produced will be highly diminished, and if we place the object near the concave lens, the image will be diminished. Image size changes from highly diminished to diminished when the object moves from infinity to the lens. We can say that image size increases when the distance between the object and lens decreases. But still, the ultimate image will be smaller than the object.
