Detailed Solution

The Jallianwala Bagh Massacre took place in Amritsar. The arrest of Dr Saifuddin kitchen and Dr Satyapal under the Rowlatt Act was a severe concern in Punjab. This act gave unlimited powers to the British government to arrest and imprison suspects without trial. To sort this out, a public meeting was held on April 13, 1919, in Jallianwala bagh/ park. In this meeting, thousands of people, including women and children, participated. British soldiers started indiscriminate firing on orders of General Dyer, in which more than 1600 people were killed in this massacre. This massacre inspired people to fight for freedom.
