A significant advancement in the textile sector during the industrial revolution was the invention of the spinning jenny, a multi-spindle spinning frame, in 1764. It was used to spin cotton or wool. It lessened the labour-intensive process of making textiles. This system would create about 120 spools. By the older method, an employee creates 8 spools at a time.
