Detailed Solution

James Watt patented the steam engine in 1781.
James Watt improved on Newcomen's steam engine and patented the new machine in 1781. The steam engine that James Watt created is what made the Industrial Revolution possible. He created a tachometer and the term "horsepower" to represent the engine's effectiveness. To reduce the quantity of waste produced by the Newcomen steam engine, Watt created a separate condenser in 1765. Watt and Matthew Boulton, a business partner, installed two steam engines with independent condensers in 1776. When James Watt's steam engine was employed to power looms in 1781, it propelled England into the Industrial Revolution.
