Detailed Solution

Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind began its existence in March 1919. It was an organisation of leading Muslim scholars and theologians. It was a driving force in the 1857 movement and was the main target of British persecution when the uprising was crushed. Twenty years after India's first fight for independence, in 1877, Shaikhul Hind Maulana founded "Samratut Tarbiyat" to prepare for an armed uprising against the British. After nearly three decades of resistance to the British, this group was reconstituted in 1919 under the name Jamiatul Ansaar, under the leadership of Maulana Obaidullah Sindhi.
