Detailed Solution

Jawaharlal Nehru and Baba Ramchandra and many more set up Oudh Kisan Sabha in October 1920. It became widespread, and in under a month, about 300 branches were set up in different villages in and around the region. Oudh Kisan sabha, also known as Awadh Kisan sabha, was headed by Baba Ramchandra, a sanyasi who had previously worked as an indentured labourer in Fiji. He led a campaign against talukdars and landowners who sought excessively high rents and other cesses from peasants. The peasant movement advocated lower taxes, the elimination of begars(forced labour), and a social boycott of unjust landlords. Jawaharlal Nehru visited the villages in Awadh in June 1920, talking to peasants and attempting to understand their complaints.
