Jews were the worst sufferers in Nazi Germany. Nazis murdered around 6 million Jews in the genocidal war alone. Nazis’ hatred of Jews can be traced to the Christians’ hostility. Traditionally, Christians were particularly hostile towards Jews as they were stereotyped as usurers or moneylenders who charged excessive interest and murderers of Christ. However, Hitler’s hatred towards them was so intense that he believed a solution to the “Jewish problem” was not conversion but total elimination. Jews had no rights to land ownership until medieval times and had to survive through moneylending and trade. Their persecution was carried out by expulsion from land or timely organised violence. Hitler expressed his hatred for Jews based on pseudoscientific theories of race.
