John Kaye invented the spinning jenny in 1764 to increase the productivity of traditional spindles. The spinning jenny was used to frame the spinning of the multi-spindle. It was contributional to the textiles industry. The spinning jenny was developed at the time of the industrial revolution. It was used to spin both wool and cotton.
