Kalpattu is a village close to the sea coast in Tamil Nadu. Apart from farming, making baskets, utensils, pitchers, bricks, bullock carts etc., is the occupation of the villagers. Some people also provide the services of blacksmiths, nurses, teachers, washermen, weavers, barbers, cycle repair mechanics and so on. There are also shopkeepers and traders in the village's main street, which looks like a market.
