Kharif crops are those crops that are grown in the months from June to October. These crops are sown with the onset of monsoon from April to July in different parts of the country. The Kharif season starts with the southwest monsoon, where tropical crops are cultivated. These crops are majorly cultivated in Assam, West Bengal, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala.
