The disc shaped structures present on both sides of centromere are called as kinetochores. These are the centers for implantation of chromosomal spindle fibers during cell division. The narrow regions of some chromosomes other than primary constriction are called as secondary constrictions. The ends of chromosomes are called as telomeres. The part of the chromosome present as a fragment beyond secondary constriction is called satellite.
