Detailed Solution

Konkan peasants gifted the Dhangars large supplies of rice.
Dhangars used to get a lot of rice from Konkan peasants. The Dhangars were a pastoral community from Maharashtra who resided on the central plateau. Because it was a semi-arid region with low rainfall, crops such as bajra could be grown there. During the monsoon season, however, this tract becomes a massive grazing field for the Dhangar flocks. The Dhangar people used to march west after harvesting the bajra crop, and after a month of marching, they arrived in the Konkan. The Konkani villagers welcomed them. Dhangar flocks ate the stubble and used their faeces to fertilise the crops. They seized rice from Konkani farmers and transported it to the plateau, where grain was scarce.
