Kunwar Singh was the zamindar of Jagdishpur near Arrah.
He was a notable leader of the 1857 Indian Revolt. He joined the uprising against the British because they had taken away his estate. Kunwar Singh served as a general in the 1857 Revolt in India. He belonged to the Bhojpur district of the Indian state of Bihar's Ujjainiya clan of the Jagdishpur Parmar Rajputs' Zamindar family. At 80, he commanded a small squad of armed troops in battle against the British East India Company's forces.
