Detailed Solution

Lala Lajpat Rai was a nationalist from Punjab. He was one of the greatest freedom fighters of India. He was also known as the "Lion of Punjab" and "Punjab Kesari." He was a member of the Lal-Bal-Pal trinity of extremist leaders, which also included Bipin Chandra Pal and Bal Gangadhar Tilak. At the 1920 Congress session in Nagpur, he supported Gandhi's non-cooperation movement. He voiced his opposition to the Rowlatt Act and the terrible massacre at Jallianwala Bagh in 1919. He was leading a non violent demonstration against the Simon Commission in Lahore in 1928 when he was savagely lathi-charged. A few weeks later, he passed away from his wounds.
