Detailed Solution

Land gifted to the Brahmans was known as Brahmadeya. Various lands existed during the Chola era, and each was distinct and had its characteristics. Numerous estates are mentioned in Chola inscriptions, including Devadana, given to the temples; Shalabhoga used to maintain a school; and Vellanvagai, given to non-Brahman proprietors. The Brahmadeya was one of these types of territories that were given to the Brahmans. Many started settling in the Kaveri delta area since the Brahmans were given these lands as gifts. Each of these brahmadeyas was overseen by an assembly, or sabha, made up of prominent Brahman landlords.
