Detailed Solution

The land offered by zamindars to the landless came to be known as Gramdan. This happened because of Vinobha Bhave, Shri Ram Chandra, and the government of India. The act of giving land was a reform movement started by Vinobha Bhave when he met some poor landless farmers in Pochampalli, Andhra Pradesh. He saw that after independence, many landless farmers were finding land to have their livelihood. Then he decided to take this issue to the government. It was in the year 1980 that Shri Ram Chandra decided to give his 80 acres of land to poor landless farmers. Then he travelled throughout India to spread this idea. When zamindars gave their lands to the farmers inspired by a new or even from the fear of the land ceiling act of the government, it came to be known as grandma, and this whole movement is said to be as Bhoodan movement or Bloodless revolution.
