Liquids have the property of rigidity and they are also known as fluids.

Liquids have fixed volumes but no fixed shape. They have weaker intermolecular forces in comparison to solids. Thus, they are not rigid. Rather, they acquire the shape of the container in which they are kept. Liquids are called fluids because of their ability to flow.
