List the main stages of multiple fission

Multiple fission, especially in organisms like Amoeba, occurs through a distinct series of stages, often as a response to harsh environmental conditions.

1. Encystment: When faced with unfavorable conditions (like drought or lack of food), the organism becomes inactive and secretes a protective, three-layered wall around itself called a cyst. This cyst is highly resistant to environmental stress.
2. Repeated Karyokinesis (Nuclear Division): Inside the protective cyst, the nucleus of the parent cell divides repeatedly by mitosis. This results in the formation of a large number of daughter nuclei, all contained within the original parent cell's cytoplasm.
3. Cytokinesis (Cytoplasm Division): After the nuclear divisions are complete, a small amount of cytoplasm surrounds each daughter nucleus. A new cell membrane then forms around each of these units, creating many tiny, individual daughter cells called amoebulae or pseudopodiospores.
4. Excystment (Release): When favorable conditions return, the cyst wall absorbs water and ruptures, releasing the numerous daughter cells into the environment, where they can grow into new individuals.
