Detailed Solution

The heat flows from a body at a higher temperature to a body at a lower temperature. There are three ways in which heat can flow from one object to another. These are conduction, convection and radiation.

a) Conduction is a process in which heat is transferred from the hotter end to the colder end of an object by direct contact.

b) Convection is a process in which heat is transferred due to the actual movement of a heated fluid (liquid or gas).

c) Radiation is the process by which heat is transferred from one object or place to another, with or without the use of a medium. Here, there is no physical contact between objects or places.
