Detailed Solution

Magnets that have temporary magnetism are called Electromagnets.
An electromagnet works on the principles of the magnetic effect of current. It usually consists of a wire wound into a coil. A current through the wire creates a magnetic field concentrated in a hole, denoting the centre of the coil. An electromagnet acts as a magnet when an electric current is passed through the insulated copper wire and loses its magnetism when the current is stopped. It contains a soft iron piece called the core with an insulated copper wire wound.
