Detailed Solution

Mahatma Gandhi and his followers marched from Sabarmati ashram to Dandi.
A peaceful civil disobedience movement headed by Mahatma Gandhi- the Dandi March is also referred to as the Salt March and the Dandi Satyagraha. The march was a direct action movement of tax resistance and peaceful protest against the British salt monopoly, which lasted from March 12th to April 6th, 1930. Gandhi embarked on a 240-mile march from Sabarmati to the Arabian Sea coastal town of Dandi on March 12th with 78 followers. Gandhi and his supporters disobeyed British policy by making salt at Dandi. In India, civil disobedience quickly spread after this event and involved millions of people.
