Mahatma Gandhi decided to participate in the Round Table Conference in London after the Gandhi-Irwin Pact.
The Gandhi-Irwin Pact was a political pact signed by Mahatma Gandhi and the then Viceroy of India, Lord Irwin, on March 5, 1931. As per the pact, Irwin agreed on:
●        The immediate release of all political prisoners who were not found guilty of violent crimes.
●        Compassionate treatment for resigned government employees.
●        The ability to manufacture salt in coastal communities for one's use only (not for sale).
●        The right to peaceful, nonviolent picketing.
●        Removal of emergency regulations.
On the other hand, Gandhi agreed to call off the Civil Disobedience movement and participate in the Round Table Conference.
