Detailed Solution

Mahatma Gandhi favoured Indian languages as a medium of instruction.
Mahatma Gandhi believed that Indian languages should be used as a teaching medium because Indians had developed a sense of inferiority under colonial schooling. It made them undermine their pride in their culture. According to Mahatma Gandhi, there was poison in European education; it was wicked and subjugated Indians. The unjust British control grew to be admired by institutions. Hence, a constant theme of his movements was to encourage Indians to withdraw from foreign educational institutes and enrol in Indian ones. Mahatma Gandhi envisioned an education enabling Indians to reclaim their dignity and self-respect.
