Detailed Solution

Mahatma Gandhi had named Harijans as children of Gods.
Mahatma Gandhi used the term "Harijan" when referring to the Dalit group. Before that, they were referred to as "Untouchables." Gandhi began referring to people as Harijans, which roughly translates to "children of God," after declaring that it was improper to label them "untouchables". It is still widely used, particularly in Gujarat, where he is from. The phrase is also credited to a group of Dalit pucca house builders in Pakistan known as the haris. But his creation of this phrase only remained a component of a politically motivated endeavour to organise the populace against colonial powers.
