Detailed Solution

In 1918, Mahatma Gandhi organised a satyagraha movement in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. This movement was the third satyagraha movement of Gandhiji after the Champaran and Kheda satyagraha. This movement was to support cotton mill workers. As a result of this, prices rose, and mill workers demanded higher wages. They supported Gandhi in his satyagraha and used banners in the parades. Because of starvation, many workers went back to work during the strike. After that, Gandhiji announced a fast till any settlement was reached to bring unity, and the feast lasted for three days. The fast influenced the mill owners, and an agreement was finalised between the mill owners and workers.
