Detailed Solution

Mahatma Gandhi organised the Satyagraha movement amongst cotton mill workers in Ahmedabad in 1918.
Mahatma Gandhi organised a satyagraha association among workers in the cotton factory in Ahmedabad in 1918. Workers in the cotton industry wanted a 50% wage increase, but mill owners were only willing to give a raise of 20%. To support the cause of the workers in the cotton industry, Gandhiji went on a hunger strike. The result of Satyagraha was that the strike was successful, and workers were given a 35% pay rise. The 1917 Champaran Satyagraha was the first Satyagraha movement led by Gandhi. Satyagraha was made by farmers forced to cultivate Indigo without payment. The Kheda Satyagraha of 1918 became the third Satyagraha movement led by Gandhi. This organisation assisted the Kheda district staff. They paid higher taxes imposed by the English due to crop failure and were finally reduced due to the strike by Gandhiji.
