Detailed Solution

Manchester in England was well-known for its textile industries.
Henry Patullo stated in 1772 that the demand for Indian textiles would never decrease since no other country produced items of comparable quality. Unfortunately, India's textile exports began to diminish around the turn of the nineteenth century. Exports of British cotton textiles skyrocketed in the early nineteenth century. Cotton piece-goods imports into India were prohibited around the end of the eighteenth century. Cotton weavers in India faced two issues: Their export market had collapsed entirely. The local market shrunk as a result of the influx of Manchester imports. Weavers confronted a new dilemma in the 1860s. They were unable to obtain a sufficient quantity of high-quality raw cotton. Raw cotton shipments from India also surged, causing the price to rise.
