Detailed Solution

Given:
Number of chocolates collected from 1 house =12

Number of houses visited=16

To find:
Number of chocolates left with Steve after sharing

Calculation:
Total number of chocolates collected by Steve on Halloween's day =12×16=192

He gave half of his chocolates to his mother. Therefore,
Number of chocolates given to mother =1922=96

He gave the half of remaining chocolates to his younger brother. Therefore,
Number of chocolates given to his younger brother=962=48

Hence, number of chocolates left with Steve now =192-96-48=48

Hence, the correct answer is Option C.
