Detailed Solution

Mansabdars were known for holding mansabs and maintaining sawars.
An individual who possesses a mansab, a position or rank, was referred to as a mansabdar. The Mughals employed this grading system to establish military duties, pay, and rank. A value called the zat was used to calculate the rank and pay of an individual. The noble's position in the court was more prominent, and he was paid more when his zat was higher. As part of his military duties, the mansabdar was expected to keep a specific quantity of sawars or cavalrymen. The mansabdar presented his cavalrymen for inspection, acquired their registration and horse branding, and then obtained funds to pay their salaries.
