Detailed Solution

Given, cost price (CP) for two fans is Rs.3605.
Let the CP of the first fan be Rs.x , then the CP of the other will be Rs. 3605x .
Profit on the first fan =15%.
Therefore, selling price (SP) is,
SP=CP 100+gain% 100 100+15 100 x 23 20 x   Loss on the second fan =9%
SP=CP 100loss% 100 1009 100 (3605x) 91 100 (3605x)
Given that the selling price for both fans is the same.
  91 100 3605x = 23x 20 2300x=65611001820x 4120x=6561100 x=1592.50
Hence, the cost price of the first fan is Rs.1592.50 and second fan cost price is Rs. 36051592.50 =  Rs.2012.50.
Therefore, option (3) is correct.
