Given, cost price (CP) for two fans is Rs.3605.
Let the CP of the first fan be Rs.x , then the CP of the other will be Rs.

3605 − x .

Profit on the first fan =15%.
Therefore, selling price (SP) is,

SP = CP 100 + gain % 100 ⇒ 100 + 15 100 x ⇒ 2320 x

Loss on the second fan =9%

SP = CP 100 − loss % 100 ⇒ 100 − 9 100 (3605 − x) ⇒ 91100 (3605 − x)

Given that the selling price for both fans is the same.

91100 3605 − x = 23 x 20 ⇒ 2300 x = 6561100 − 1820 x ⇒ 4120 x = 6561100 ⇒ x = 1592.50

Hence, the cost price of the first fan is Rs.1592.50 and second fan cost price is Rs.

3605 − 1592.50 =

Rs.2012.50.
Therefore, option (3) is correct.
