Marie Antoinette was the youngest daughter of Holy Roman Emperor Francis I and Maria Theresa. She was only 14 years old when her parents married her to Dauphin Louis for diplomatic purposes. In 1774, when her husband became the king under the title of Louis XVI, she became Empress. In 1774, Louis XVI of the family of Bourbon kings ascended the throne of France. She remained one of the most iconic figures of Versailles' rich history. She went to the French court at the age of fifteen. In 1792, Monarchy was disbanded and France became a Republic. The king was sentenced to death by guillotine on January 21, 1793. The trial of Marie-Antoinette began on October 14, 1793; Two days later, she was convicted by the revolutionary court of treason and executed, also by guillotine, at the Place de la Révolution.
