$\therefore$   The mass of solute (in grams) present in 100 grams of solution.

Mass by volume percentage (W/V): Can be expressed as follows:

$\text{(w/V)}:\frac{\text{Mass of solute}}{\text{Volume of solution}}\times 100$

$=\frac{\text{m in g}}{\text{V in litre}}\times 100$

The mass of solute (in grams) present in 100 ml of solution.

Volume percentage (v/V): Can be expressed as follows:

$\text{(v/V)}:\frac{\text{Volume of solute}}{\text{Volume of solution}}\times 100$

$=\left(\frac{v}{v+V}\right)\times 100$

$\therefore$   The volume of solute (in ml) present in 100 ml of solution.
