Detailed Solution

The energy generated in red dwarfs is the product of nuclear fusion of hydrogen into helium by way of the proton–proton (PP) chain mechanism.

The sequence of thermonuclear processes known as the carbon, nitrogen, and oxygen cycle is what produces the majority of the energy emitted by hotter stars. In very cool stars, it doesn't function at all and is only a minor source of energy for the Sun.

Carbon-14 isotope of carbon is used for carbon dating process for its radioactive nature.

Radioactive sodium is used in radiocardiography for determination of the blood circulation velocity.
