Detailed Solution

The East India Company was able to assert a trading monopoly quickly after gaining political clout. A management and control system was developed to lessen rivalry, manage costs, and ensure steady supplies of cotton and silk products. By firing the current merchants and brokers involved in the textile trade, the business attempted to exert greater direct control over the weaver.
Gomasthas:
It assigned the hired servant known as the gomastha to supervise weavers, fetch supplies, and judge the fabric's calibre. Company weavers were prohibited from conducting business with any other buyers by the East India Company. Numerous weaving villages reported conflicts between weavers and gomasthas. The new gomasthas had no previous social links to the town and were outsiders.
Supply Merchants:
In the past, supply merchants frequently called the weaving villages home. They developed close bonds with the weavers, catered to their needs, and helped them through bad times.
Sepoys:
They acted arrogantly, marched into villages with sepoys and peons, and beat and flopped weavers repeatedly as retribution for supply delays.
To repay loans:
The weavers' payment from the Company was pitifully meagre. Moreover, the debts they had accepted had bound them to the Company, preventing them from negotiating rates and selling to different customers.
