1)      Mawsynram: Mawsynram is a town in the East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya and receives the highest amount of rainfall worldwide. According to reports, it receives 11,87 cm of rain on average each year, making it the wettest site on Earth. Mawsynram recorded 26,000 cm of rainfall in 1985, according to the Guinness Book of World Records.
2)      Mahawat: Mahawat means a small amount of winter rainfall due to western and northwestern cyclonic disturbances. Mahawat is best for the cultivation of rabi crops which are grown during the winter season.
3)      Loo: The Loo is a strong, dusty, hot, and dry summer wind from the west which blows over the Indo-Gangetic Plain region of North India and Pakistan. It is extreme in May and June. Due to its very high temperatures of nearly 45 °C–50 °C or 115 °F–120 °F, exposure to it often leads to fatal heatstrokes.
4)      Western disturbances: In northwestern India, rainfall is caused by western disturbances during the winter. Westerlies are responsible for this pattern. Western disturbances helped cultivate crops like wheat and rice, which ate staple foods of Northern India.
