Detailed Solution

The Human Development Report, published by UNDP annually, compares countries on the basis of the educational levels of their people. It calculates the cumulative score by measuring GNI, life expectancy at birth, and mean years of schooling. All of the member countries are compared and ranked according to their score. The HDI is a summary measure of average achievement in key dimensions of human development, such as living a long and healthy life, being knowledgeable, and having a good standard of living. Sri Lanka has the highest rank in terms of HDI, as it stood at 76 among the other countries. India stood at 130, which is better than Nepal and Pakistan, which are at 149 and 150, respectively. These three countries are the lowest in terms of HDI rankings.
