Detailed Solution

According to Arrhenius acid base theory, the substance produces more number of  H+ions in aqueous solution that is called “strong acid”. If the substance produces less number of  H+ ions in aqueous solution that is called a weak acid.

HClO4 is a strong acid but CH3COOH is a weak acid.

If the substance produces OH ion more easily in aqueous solution then it is said to be strong base. If the substance produces OH ion in aqueous in less amount then it is said to be weak base.

KOH is a strong base and NH4OH is a weak base.
