Leydig Cells: These are found in the testes of males and are responsible for secreting androgens specially testosterone, which is a male sex hormone. Testosterone plays a crucial role in the development and maintenance of male reproductive tissues and secondary sexual characteristics.
Sertoli Cells: Also known as sustentacular cells, Sertoli cells are found in the testes and have several functions, including nourishing and supporting developing sperm cells (spermatogenesis) and regulating the process of sperm production.
Granulosa Cells: These are specialised cells found in the ovaries. They form layers around ovarian follicles. They also produce hormones such as oestrogen.
Acrosome: The acrosome is a structure found on the head of a sperm cell. It contains enzymes that are essential for sperm penetration of the zona pellucida (outer layer of the egg) during fertilisation.
