Detailed Solution

1)      Black soil: It is present in Maharashtra. Black soils are derived from trap lava and are found primarily in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Madhya Pradesh's interior.
2)      Alluvial soil: It is found in the Northern plains. Particles such as silt, sand, and clay make up the soil. The sediments generate alluvial soils carried downstream by rivers. Most rivers originate in the Himalayas and transport a large amount of silt.
3)      Arid soil: It is seen in Western Rajasthan. Desert soil can be found in dry and semi-arid climates with limited rainfall. The sand in the desert is partially native and partly blown in from the Indus Valley. Sand makes up 90-95 percent of the soil, whereas clay makes up 5-10 percent.
4)      Forest soil: It is there in the Himalayan Region. Mountain soils are generated due to the buildup of organic matter derived from forest development and are often shallow, in-depth, and juvenile. This kind of soil is also known as forest soil.
