1)      On March 5, 1931, Mahatma Gandhi made the decision to end the civil disobedience movement and struck a deal with Lord Irwin. In exchange for the government agreeing to release the political prisoners, Gandhiji promised to attend a Round Table Conference in London (the Congress had boycotted the first Round Table Conference).
2)      Many nationalists believed that non-violent resistance to the British could not succeed. The Hindustan Socialist Republican Army (HSRA) was established in 1928 during a gathering at the Ferozeshah Kotla ground in Delhi.
3)      The oldest union federation in India is called the All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC). On October 31, 1920, it was established, with Lala Lajpat Rai serving as its inaugural leader. It was founded in Bombay by Lala Lajpat Rai, Joseph Baptista, N. M. Joshi, Diwan Chaman Lall, and a small number of other individuals.
4)      A red, green, and yellow tricolour flag was created in Bengal during the Swadeshi movement. Eight lotuses were on it to symbolise the eight British Indian provinces, while a crescent moon stood in for both Muslims and Hindus.
