1)      The fine cotton that was produced in India was exported to Europe. But the British imposed tariffs on the imports to favour local industries, which led to a decline in exports to Europe.
2)      Opium was produced in India. It was exported to China on a large scale by the British.
3)      Tea which was produced in China was imported to Britain.
4)      As the industrial revolution emerged, Britain began to produce manufactured goods at cheaper prices. It also imposed a ban on manufactured goods being exported. British goods flooded the Indian markets.
