Detailed Solution

The modern unit of the luminosity of light is the Lumen, and its old unit is Candle Power.
The modern unit of the intensity of light is Lux, and its old unit is the foot candle.
A non-luminous body is a body which does not emit light of its own, for example, a comet.
A luminous body is a body which emits light of its own, for example, a star.
When a collection of rays/ beam of light meets at a point, it is known as a convergent beam.
Based on the transparency, the objects can be classified as opaque, translucent and transparent. Opaque objects are objects that do not allow light to pass through them completely. Translucent objects are objects that allow light to pass through them partially. Transparent objects are objects that allow light to pass through them completely.
An eclipse is caused when the earth is in between the sun and the moon is called a lunar eclipse, and when the moon is in between the sun and the earth, it is known as a solar eclipse.
A periscope is a device made by using two plane mirrors to see above the obstacles. It also consists of mirrors inclined at 45°.
Irregular reflections are the reflections in which parallel beam of light scatters in different directions.
Number of images formed by two plane mirrors inclined at an angle of  45°comes out to be  7 from the formula N=(360)x-1 where  x is 45°.
