1)      Universal Adult Franchise- is the basis of political equality in a democracy. It means that every adult should have an equal right to vote irrespective of caste, gender, sex, status, religion, or race. The value of a vote should be similar, i.e. one person, one vote. In most countries, citizens get the right to vote after 18 years of age. 2)      Secular State- The secular state means that a state doesn't have any official religion, and there is a separation between the matters of state and religion. In India, this separation is not very airtight as the state maintains a moral distance from all faiths but can interfere in maintaining law, order and justice.
3)      Patriarchal Society- a social structure where a man plays the dominant role in decision-making. Like in a family, the father makes all the decisions. A patriarchal society is male-dominant and male-centric.
4)      Unitary System- is the structure of government where the power is concentrated in the centre as opposed to a federal form of government where power is divided between the centre and state. The national government has all the power to decide for the whole nation.
